Year in Dots is a small, free project made by one person. It makes Lock Screen wallpapers that show how much of the year has passed. This page explains what data the service handles. It is short because we collect very little.
What we do not collect
- No accounts, names, or passwords.
- No location, photos, contacts, or other data from your iPhone.
- We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
The wallpaper Shortcut
When the Shortcut runs, it asks wallpaper.yearindots.com for an image. The request contains only your screen width and height, today's date, and the style you chose (days or months). We use this only to make your image. The server keeps copies of generated images by size, date, and style. These copies do not identify you.
Like most web servers, our server records basic request logs: IP address, time, the requested address, and the app or browser name. We use these logs only to keep the service running and to stop abuse, and we delete them after a limited time.
The website
We use a few trusted third-party services to run the website, measure how it is used, and keep it fast and secure. These services can process technical data, such as your IP address, browser type, and how you use the page. Some of them can use cookies or similar technology. They handle this data under their own privacy policies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings.
Other services
The Shortcut is shared through Apple iCloud and runs in Apple's Shortcuts app. Voluntary support payments go through Buy Me a Coffee. These services have their own privacy policies.
Children
The service is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Your choices
We keep no accounts, so there is usually no data linked to you. To stop using the service, delete the Shortcut and its automation. For questions or requests about your data, email [email protected].

If this policy changes, we update this page and the date at the top.
